Log-it Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 15, 2026 · Version 1.0
Log-it is an app for keeping the maintenance record of your vehicles and equipment. This policy explains what data it handles, where it lives, and what does — and does not — leave your phone.
01 Who is responsible
Log-it (package identifier com.rookieworks.logit) is developed and published by Rookie Works, an independent software studio based in Venezuela, and the controller of the data described here.
Contact for any privacy matter: rookieworksdev@gmail.com.
This policy supersedes the general Rookie Works privacy policy in everything concerning Log-it. Where the two differ, this one prevails.
02 Where your data lives
There is no sign-up, no login and no server of ours. Everything you enter is stored in the app's private storage on your phone. It is not sent to Rookie Works or to third parties, and we have no technical means of reading it.
The app works fully offline. It only uses the network to load ads.
03 What data it handles
| Data | Where it comes from | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Equipment and vehicles: name, brand, model, year, serial or plate, notes | You, when you add them | Your phone only |
| Service records, tasks, parts and costs | You, when you log them | Your phone only |
| Odometer or hour-meter readings | You, by hand or with the camera | Your phone only |
| Photos of equipment and of work done | You, via camera or gallery | Your phone only |
| Preferences: language and reminder settings | You, in Settings | Your phone only |
| Advertising identifier and device data | Google AdMob | Google, under its own policy |
Nothing you record is sold, rented or shared with advertisers or data brokers. That circuit does not exist in the app: your records never reach us.
04 Backup and export
From Settings → Export everything the app creates a .zip file with your records and photos. It is created on your phone and is not uploaded anywhere.
If you choose to share it — by email, to cloud storage or to another phone — it travels to the destination you pick and is then subject to that service's terms. That choice is yours; the app does not make it for you and never sends anything automatically.
That same file is your right to portability in practice: it is readable, contains your full history, and can be restored on another device.
05 Camera, photos and scanning
The camera is used for three things, and they are worth telling apart because they do not all work the same way:
Photos
Photos you take or pick from the gallery are copied into the app's storage. They are not uploaded to any server.
Odometer reading
The text recognition that reads the dashboard runs entirely on your device, using a component shipped inside the app. The image never leaves your phone and is not kept unless you attach it to the record.
QR codes and barcodes
Scanning is also processed on the device, but the component that performs it may be provided by Google Play services on your phone, which in some cases downloads it on demand. What gets downloaded is that component: your images and data are not sent.
06 Advertising (Google AdMob)
Log-it is free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect and process the device advertising identifier, approximate location derived from the IP address (country or region, not GPS), device information and ad interaction data.
Google carries out that processing as its own controller, under its policies:
Depending on your region, ads may be personalised or non-personalised. Where the law requires it (European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland), a Google consent form is shown before any ad is loaded. You can change or withdraw your choice from Settings → Privacy options inside the app, where that option is available.
On Android you can also reset or delete your advertising identifier, or turn off personalisation, in Settings › Google › Ads.
07 Reminders
Reminders for due maintenance are scheduled on the phone itself. They are not push notifications: no server sends them, they need no connection, and their content never leaves the device.
08 Permissions the app declares
- Camera: photograph equipment and work done, read the odometer, scan codes.
- Notifications: remind you of due maintenance. Requested when you turn reminders on, not when you open the app.
- Boot completed, vibrate, wake lock and foreground service: used by the notification component to show reminders and reschedule them after the phone restarts; without them they would be lost silently.
- Internet and network state: load ads and the consent form.
- Advertising ID: required by Google for advertising.
The app declares no location, contacts, microphone, calendar or external storage permissions.
09 What Log-it does not do
- No analytics. We do not measure which screens you open or how long you spend in them.
- No account or login. We do not ask for your email or your name.
- No automatic sync. Nothing is uploaded to the cloud on its own.
- No access to your location, contacts, microphone or calendar.
- We do not sell or share your records within the meaning of the GDPR or the CCPA: we do not have them.
10 Retention and deletion
Your data lives on your phone for as long as the app is installed. Uninstalling it deletes everything, including photos taken through it. As there is no server, no copy remains anywhere else and there is nothing to request from us.
Backup files you shared yourself are yours: delete them wherever you saved them.
As for advertising, Google retains and processes its own data under the retention periods in its policy, linked above.
11 Security
- Data is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps on the phone cannot access.
- Advertising and consent traffic travels encrypted over HTTPS.
- We run no servers holding your data, so there is no database of ours that could suffer a breach.
The honest trade-off of this design: if you lose your phone without having exported a backup, we cannot recover your history. That is why export has been there since day one.
12 Your rights
Depending on where you live, the law grants you rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability (GDPR in the EU and the UK, CCPA/CPRA in California, ARCO rights in Latin America, among others).
For what you record in the app, you exercise those rights directly, without asking anyone:
- Access and portability: Settings → Export everything.
- Rectification: every field is editable inside the app.
- Erasure: delete the record in the app, or uninstall it to remove everything.
For advertising data the controller is Google, and you may exercise your rights with them, as well as reset or limit your advertising identifier as described above. For any other request, write to rookieworksdev@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days at most.
13 Minimum age
Log-it is meant for adults managing their vehicles and equipment and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Ads are configured to receive no child- or teen-directed treatment, and ad content is limited to the general-audience rating. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
14 Changes
We may update this policy if the app's features or the applicable law change. The current version will always be at this address, with its update date. If a change significantly affects how your data is handled, we will say so inside the app.
